Contents Page First Draft

The strengths of this contents page,  in my opinion are;

• The mood board background because it adds different dimensions to the piece. 
• The strong house style, the colors have been carried through from my front cover to create an automatic reliability. 

The weakness of this contents page are;

• The yellow/orange box makes the text difficult to read. 
• The masthead looks out of place.
• The whole page is too safe.  

My reasonings for selections are the following; 

• The color scheme and fonts were taken from my front cover and carried through to create an overall house style. 
• I included an editors note because it created a relationship with the readers and allowed me to express thanks to models etc. It is also a common convention of fashion magazines.
• The style crush segment includes the regional aspect as girls from across the north east can be spotted and chosen to be featured on this page. 
• I wanted a moldboard as my background to create a depth to the page while creating a modern feeling, the images includes cut outs of fashion icons such as Kendal Jenner, Kate Moss and Twiggy which links to the fashion aspect.

Contents Page Background

This is my original background which has been made from cut outs from various magazines including Heat, Company, Cosmpolitan, Glamour and other fashion magazines which I found inside popular newspapers including 'The Mail On Sunday' and 'The Independent'. 

After scanning my image into the computer I decided to trial different color effecting using editing websites such as Fotor, Pic Monkey and photoshop. Below are the six different effects I tried, including vintage and black and white. 

January Update Post

So far I have completed the following tasks:

• Completed My front Page.
• 2 drafts of possible feature pages. 
• Created a mood board for my contents page background. 
• Took all images I will need. 

By the end of this month I plan to have completed drafts of the following items:

• Front Cover
• Contents Page
• 2 Feature Pages
• Billboard Advertisement
• Website. 

Inorder to achieve this I need to become more focused on my work, In the next few hours I need to complete the second draft of my contents page taking into consideration the new ideas I have and the faults I identified in my first draft. By next thursday, the 29th, I want to have a first draft of my website up and running and by the following thursday, the 5th of february, I plan to have my billboard draft completed.

First Stages of Contents Page Production

End of December Update Post

This month I set out with the plan to produce a first draft of my front cover, which I had achieved early because I found that once I had edited the image and decided on my burgundy colour scheme I had a lot of motivation to complete the page to the highest standard I possibly could. I worked for two weeks straight to complete this which meant that I had made up for my lack of progress during November so I could make a start on my feature pages. I now have 2 inital drafts of feature pages and a draft of my cover meaning my contents page is my main goal for next month. If I maintain this focus I should be complete ahead of schedual.
