WEBSITE UPDATE (SUNDAY 15TH FEBRUARY)

HOME PAGE-

For this I removed the mood board background and replaced it with a simplistic image which also incorporated the burgundy coloring of the main writing.

HIGH STREET EDIT-

For this I changed the 'jewelry' section to a 'beauty' section, added an image I had taken over Christmas as the main imagine and changed the button so the coloring was a better fit and was more prominent on the page.  

FASHION PAGE-

I took the font from my sell-lines on the front cover of the magazine for this section along with images of clothing that I had recently taken. 

BEAUTY PAGE- 

This is my finished beauty page, it incorporated beauty products such as makeup, accessories and jewelry such as heels and rings and other elements such as nail varnish styles, eye shadow tutorials etc.

East Coast Monthly Video

When looking at inspiration on competitors websites I noticed that many of them had become more interactive by posting you tube videos of promotions for the latest editions of the magazines or updates on breaking fashion stories etc. Because of this, I decided to become more interactive with my website by creating a video using I-movie. It shows what is available in the magazine and online in a quick, easy and fun way.

WEBSITE UPDATE

End of January Update Post

This month I have managed to achieve a lot including first draft of my contents page and my billboard which means that there is only an initial draft for my website to do until I have a briefly completed portfolio in which I can get feedback for. My motivation has been strong this month as the deadline is nearing and I want to ensure my piece is of the best standards as possible but I have once again had to compete with other coursework hand ins and moc exams meaning my revision time table has been bumped up. 

Initial Drafts Of Billboard

For the first draft of my billboard I wanted to play around with different font effects such as outer glow and drop shadow while seeing how my color scheme suited best.

The strengths of this piece are;

• The font and font colors are the same as the masthead of my magazine.
• I like the mirror effect of the main image. 
• The house style has been continued through. 

The weaknesses of this piece are; 

• The background coloring looks messy and doesn't suit the theme. 
• The outer glow on 'east coast' makes it look too cut out from the rest of the piece.
• 'North easts....' is hard to read.
